Cycling Yorkshire's 500 (CY500)

500 miles and over 30,000 feet of climbing; that's how far it is to cycle the full perimeter of Yorkshire. The ride incorporates the North Yorkshire Coast, Yorkshire Dales, Pennines of West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire Peak District and North Yorkshire Moors. In May, friends and Ilkley CC riders, Rob, Mel, Kev and Mark are setting off to ride it in 3 days, starting and finishing in Scarbrough. There will be highs and lows and inevitably, given 3 days of riding 160 plus miles it will be brutal at times. This is an uncharted route and the riders hope by riding it and suffering a little, they can raise money for two fantastic charities; LandAid and Alzheimer's Society.

LandAid undertakes incredible work for youth homelessness throughout the UK. The effect of Covid along with the increased cost of living are making the plight of young people facing life on the streets tougher than ever. https://www.landaid.org/

The Alzheimer's society is the UKs leading dementia charity. They campaign for change, fund research to find a cure and support people living with dementia today.

Please donate. We would be very grateful.
