Ribble Valley Le Tour Ride

Article image

Marking a change from previous years, there will be just one route of 50 miles that will incorporate throughout the second half of the ride, the route to be taken by the Tour de France only a month later. The route will include the three category climbs, namely Cote de Jubilee Tower, Cote de Trough of Bowland and finally the Cote de Waddington Fell.  Also, we have new group formats, so that entrants can choose the speed group that best suits their personal capabilities and perhaps create more of a Peloton feel to the ride than just feeling like an individual rider.  We are aiming to create a distinctive French feel to the whole event.

You will have the opportunity to experience the stresses and strains and the glorious downhill and curving sections taken by Le Tour riders, and also pick out your potential viewing areas for the Stage event.

Our route will, as ever, take in the stunning scenery in the Ribble Valley, and this year, we will stray into the neighbouring areas of Wyre and Lancaster City Council.

The entire route will be signed and marshalled where necessary.  The route will be challenging in places; however, we have two strategically placed fuelling pit stops for hydration and calorific balance.  We will also have a full feeding station close to the mid-way point which will be well stocked with snacks, gels, hydration and our famous home-made cakes. Riders can choose between standard food, vegetarian or gluten free options.  Of course there will be the legendary bacon butty and drink at the finish.

Entries open on 14th August and the cost is £40 per rider.
